  1. My poem also relates to the everyday man. Charles Sanburg's poem is about a city and how great it is everyday, not just on special events. Charles Sandburg wrote in more detail then T.S Elliot, which is a big difference in our two poems.

  2. In your video you mentioned how your poem relates to the everyday man and you also talked a lot about Jesus/religion, which is very different from my poem. My poem does not relate to the everyday man at all, and does not talk about any type of religion whatsoever.

  3. My poem involves man overcoming racial discrimination, as opposed the everyday man witnessing an important event and becoming humble. Both are Modernism characteristics. Your point about how T.S. Elliot does not hide the truth and bluntly describes the event makes the story sound appealing to read.

  4. Your poem is a lot about the everyday man, which is the complete opposite of my short story which was about tramps and other people that did absolutely nothing with their life!
I liked what you said about the modernism period being more to the point and void of the details that confuse you and make the writings harder to understand.

  5. The poem I read was about a person in a city as well, but instead of creating a feeling of humility it makes the speaker miss his home. I think a lot of the Modernist writers were inspired by the cities and the different ways they can make people feel.

  6. Something that stood out to me most was that your poem revolved around a normal, everyday man, perhaps one who you would just see on the street. The man in my story was very odd and pretended to be a dog and eat poetry. Our stories share similarities in that I pointed out that Modernism was very blunt and to the point, too.

  7. Our poems are similar because the deal with the everyday mans opinion but they were also different because yours delt with discrimination and mine had nothing to do with that. The thing that stuck out to me was how normal the main character is and does not deal with higher ideas like science, etc.

  8. Ours both share the sense of religion in the poems. Mine comes out as the world is the Lord's land but yours is more of the birth of Jesus. Both are very similar and very important.

  9. Our poems were similar in that they could relate well to the common man; a characteristic of modernism. The were both about situations in which the characters wither grew character or were encouraged to be better. Other than that, our poems were very different.
